Indeed, humans require the right amount to ensure proper brain and muscle function, in addition to serving as the body’s main source of energy. However, excessive intake can lead to undesirable health outcomes.

 Why should you care about controlling carbohydrates intake?

  • Weight Management: Carbohydrates are a primary source of calories in our diet. When we eat more carbohydrates than we need, our bodies store the excess as fat. By managing our carbohydrate intake, we can help weight loss or maintain a healthy weight.

These types of carbohydrates can promote a feeling of fullness and satisfaction while providing health benefits. On the other hand, refined grains, sugary drinks, and processed foods contain unhealthy carbohydrates that contribute to weight gain, diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. Choosing healthy carbohydrates over unhealthy ones whenever possible is crucial for our wellbeing.
